Arambol Beach, North Goa
Location: 39 kilometres from Panjim(Goa) and 27 kms. from Mapusa.
Best time to visit: October and JuneArambol Beach also known as Harmal. It is the most developed beach resorts of northerly Goa’s and is still considered the beach of choice for many long-staying budget-minded travellers in the north Goa.
It is 27 kms. from Mapusa and 39 kms. from Panaji. Arambol lies sandwiched between Mandrem beach to the South and Kalacha beach to the north.
Arambol first emerged in the 1960s as a mellow paradise for long-haired long-stayers escaping the scene at Calangute.
The beach has both a long sandy stretch with soft white sands. To the north of the beach lie a few shacks and a rocky outcroppings. A small path to the north also leads to Kalacha beach.
Stay overnight at one of the beach huts with accommodation options and wake up early in the morning to walk down to neighbouring Kalacha Beach. Here, you can walk around a beautiful fresh-water lagoon and spot monkeys and exotic birds in the adjacent jungle.
You can find Arambol Beach on the west coast of Goa, just south of Kalacha Beach and north of Mandrem Beach. It is a 1an half hour journey by car from Dabolim Airport. The town of Chopdem is a 12-kilometre (7.5-mile) journey from the beach.
Arambol Beach is well known throughout Goa for its natural beauty and bohemian atmosphere, so it should not be too hard to find.
