Kalacha Beach, North Goa
Beach Area: 5 kms
Best time to visit: October and June
Kalacha Beach, also called Paliem Beach, remains almost as unspoiled today as it was before tourism changed the Goan coast. Only a couple of charming restaurant huts to one side of the shore show the effects of the last few decades.
In the morning on the beach there are countless people doing yoga next to the fishermen sorting out their nets.
In season every evening a part of the beach turns into a festival type location with drumming, frisbee, dancing, hooping and juggling alongside groups of Indians playing cricket in their underwear.
The credit of the discovery of this beach and blue lagoon goes to the Hippies who came here in hordes and settled for along down time. The beach is lined with a few bars, shacks and eateries.
At a distance of 34 km from Panjim Kadamba Bus Stand, 61 km from Vasco Da Gama Railway Station and 21 km from Mapusa, Kalacha Beach is located in North Goa.
